Treacle

A social prescribing directory aimed at improving life for the local community of Keighley and beyond.

Changing the norms of a health directory by making it more intuitive and easier to find the help you need.

Intuitive
User
Interface

After spending many hours looking at other social prescribing directories it was clear that a new approach was needed to engage the user and assist them in finding the help they were seeking.

This is how Treacle came about, the brainchild of a concerned nurse wanting to make a difference in her local community.

Responsive
Design

Clear design, bold and beautiful. Created with a mobile first approach in mind whilst keeping a balance for desktop users too. As with all Kiseki Studio websites, responsive design is a fundamental part included in all projects.

Branding
Design

Along with designing the website, Treacle was in need of some strong branding to give them an identity online and within the many medical practices where it was to be promoted.

Treacle represents a solution to help people through sticky times, with emphasis on the droplet of treacle on the logo, it is a reminder that help is out there.

How Treacle Benefited

With the recent overhaul and redesign of the website, it gave Treacle a more professional and serious look. Whilst retaining the original and iconic wheel on the homepage, we were able to give off a more serious approach to social prescribing yet keeping the friendly and welcoming feel.

The website has a much more clear and intuitive way of finding categories via the labels and navigation which matches each colour of the iconic wheel. Within each listing on the site, there are quick ways to find the vital information to get in contact with the organisation.

The Brief

Kiseki Studio was tasked with creating an innovative way to present a directory style website for the local community of Keighley in West Yorkshire.

The directory had to be easy to use with an intuitive navigation whilst most importantly, not looking like your typical online directory. This was the most important aspect of this project, as many other social prescribing directories exist online already, but they are so hard to find what you are looking for and look unappealing.

The directory site would also need to include options for foreign languages as Keighley and Bradford are well known for their diverse culture.

The Result

The directory website was deemed a great success on it’s launch within the local community and further afield. The founder of Treacle was so proud that she managed to secure a feature of the Treacle directory and app on the local BBC news program Look North.

So far the website and app in 2023 has had a combined total of 20,000 users and will go on to help 65% of those who used the site to find a local group or help via Treacle.

Treacle continues to grow and evolve with the changing times with new members off staff, extra regions added and reaching the milestone of 1000 total listings.
